Historical background:
Among the vast range of small arms, the C96 has earned the title of “classic”, and is also known as the “Broomhandle”. It was a semi-automatic pistol made in Germany from 1896 to 1937, designed by the Feederle brothers at Mauser. With more than a century of history, its highly functional and practical design has made it recognised as one of the great pistols of the world.
The German army received more than 100,000 of them and used them in the First World War, when close-range trench fighting was common. Soviet Russia bought large numbers of C96s, which earned the nickname “Bolo-Mauser”, the Bolsheviks' Mauser. When the Second World War began in 1939, the C96 was still in service.
Although few countries adopted it as a standard-issue sidearm, it was used in practically every military conflict of the first half of the 20th century.
Recreate the greatest battles of the First World War with the DENIX reproduction of this pistol!
